THE WAYNE WEAVER FOUNDATION

The Wayne Weaver Foundation is a high-impact First Nations charity and social enterprise (DGR status) that serves as a national benchmark for professional and cultural excellence. The foundation specializes in transforming cultural responsibility into economic agency, professional mastery, and self-determination.

ORIGINS: A STRATEGIC UNION

The foundation’s identity was forged through the high-level collaboration of three visionaries who recognized that First Nations talent deserves a world-class platform:

  • Wayne Weaver: The foundation’s namesake, whose journey from globally collected artist to legislative reformer proved that creative agency is a fundamental pillar of self-determination.
  • Suzanne Goodchild: Provided the vital executive leadership and operational governance required to transform this vision into a sustainable commercial and charitable powerhouse. Her expertise ensured the foundation’s longevity as a professional vehicle for impact.
  • Birrunga Wiradyuri: Established the framework of “Cultural Custodianship,” ensuring all work remains rooted in the strength of First Nations protocols and intellectual property.

A message from Uncle Archie

Imagine what it would be like if you were isolated from community and a loved one passed away. The Wayne Weaver Foundation provides a way for First Nations prisoners to attend funerals in their community.
