As one of seven kids and child of a widow, and growing up impoverished in a tough neighborhood in Western Canada, taught me that a little compassion & kindness can make all the difference in someone's life. I have been very fortunate to be given the opportunity to move to this beautiful country and been very successful here, Wayne's charity speaks to me as the organisation is giving chances to people that have largely been given up on, and likely grew up lacking the compassion and choices that I had, so volunteering is my attempt at leveling the playing field so that someday disadvantaged can have the same joy and opportunities as the rest of us, and truly get the "fair go" they so rightly deserve and have been endlessly patient for.
